The Hotspot Glass Studio was created to provide the public with an opportunity to experience firsthand the fine art of glassblowing. Located in Fairfield Connecticut, visitors are welcome to come and watch the studio artists in action while perusing our goods for purchase. Anyone interested in learning how to work with hot glass might consider taking one of our classes or workshops. Once students have completed a beginner glass class and can demonstrate proficiency in the hot shop they then have the option of renting the studio by the hour to pursue their own artistic endeavors.
The Hotspot Glass Studio was created by Glass artist, Dylan Cotton who has dedicated himself to the proliferation and practice of his favorite medium. Dylan began his study of glass at Alfred University in 1989. He received his BFA and went on to work in many different studios including Pilchuck School of Glass, Penland School of Crafts, Red Deer College, and Salem Community College. In 2006, Dylan received his MFA in Glass and Ceramics from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Dylan has served as the Westport Art Center Resident Teaching Artist for the past seven years administering the “connections” outreach project, bringing new art projects and materials to underserved Bridgeport schools.View Profile
